The intent of Traffic Witness is to split our revenue 80/20 in favor of the charities.
We believe that revenue will be generated in three primary ways.
- Paying memberships from insurance companies and law firms.
- Advertising revenue.
- Fees for access to oral statements of witnesses, court appearances by witnesses, etc.
Paying memberships and advertising revenue are general or broad based revenue that all our designated churches or charities should share.
Here is an example. Let's say that in the first quarter of 2021 we generate $4,000,000 from paying members and $4,000,000 from advertising or $8,000,000 total. So, generally speaking, our churches/charities would receive 80% of $8,000,000, or a total of $6,400,000. Let's also say that Baptist churches were named in 25% of all designated charities. So, 25% of $6,400,000 would be $1,600,000 and that would be distributed to the various Baptist churches based on how many people named each church. In addition, many of those Baptist members would also generate fees. See Example 2 below.
Fees are generated from an insurance company or law firm getting information from a specific member about an accident they reported.
For example, fees will be split only with the church/charity named by that member. Let's say Mary Smith gave an oral statement to a law firm and then appeared in court on their behalf. If we charge $50 for the statement and $1,000 for a court appearance, that would total $1,050. If Mary had named Bethel Romanian Church of Dallas, they would receive 80% of $1,050 or $840.
However, there will probably be several churches named by only a handful of people, and we would prefer to not send out checks for less than $100. So, we intend to hold those amounts until they reach at least $100 before sending a check. We don't want the process of sending checks to cost so much that we have trouble maintaining an 80/20 split.
